Psychogeriatric Resource Program
About the Program
The Psychogeriatric Resource Program (PRP) was developed through the Strategy for Alzheimer Disease and Related Dementia Initiative.Who is Eligible
Long Term Care Homes and Community Support Agencies who serve people with dementia, mental illness or other complex needs.The Program Provides
- Consultation Services
- Education and Training to Staff
- Provides Assistance and will Advise in Care Plan Development
- Provides Assistance in Developing Interventions for Persons with Responsive Behaviours
- Behavioural Outreach Supports
The Psychogeriatric Resource Consultant (PRC) provides consultative support to local Long Term Care Homes and Community Support Agencies.
The PRC develops and delivers ongoing education and training in the management of behavioural expressions of individuals with complex, cognitive and mental health needs.
The PRC helps to identify gaps and integrate services to meet client/staff needs in crisis situations.
